OVFM Club Meeting Tuesday October 23rd 2012

And so the final of the initial qualifying rounds of this year’s competition is upon us. We’ve seen some interesting films thus far so hopefully this session wouldn’t disappoint either.

If last year is any indicator, some of you will be leaving it to the last minute before making your film which would suggest a healthy turn out of entries to close this opening stage of the contest.

The remaining club members invited to provide their films are:

Andy & Marian Watson

Jim Morton Robertson

Barbara Walker

Mike Bishop

Andy Webb

Basil Doody

Sylvia Snipp

Ray Hewitt

Derek Allen

Alan Smith

Malcolm Goodwin

Susan Ward

Len Lawrence

Please reply to this post if you will be providing a film for this week’s session.

If you don’t then have a film ready please let Brenda Wheatley but I’m sure that those who missed their spot earlier in the contest will be able to provide ample substitution.

Good luck to everyone who enters a film!

  1. Really sorry for not coming tonight with my film. Been at A&E all afternoon/evening with a poorly Mum. Sorry not to be able to let you know.

  2. The final opening round of this year’s contest went out with a bit of a whimper rather than the usual bang with just three entries.

First up was “The Sixth Legion” from Jim Morton Robertson, a look at a re-enactment of a Roman army in battle.

Next was “The Second Day” from Chris “Cats” Coulson. You’ll never guess what this was about….

The final entry was from Lady Annabelle of Lancaster who had “Fun With The Ancestors”, allowing us a look at a local group which helps people trace their family trees.

As a bonus, Barbara “Cakes” Darby shared with us her film “Olympic Fever” which recalls the moment the Olympic Flame passed through Otford earlier this summer. Well, I say “summer”….

Keep an eye for the results on this site and the top ten final will take place early in 2013!
