To kick off the second month of the year in the club calendar we take a look at the films you have (hopefully) made as part of our latest project Valentines, as originally announced last month HERE.
Whether you are celebrating the notion of love and romance, or denouncing the shameless consumerism of what is essentially a faux special occasion, or maybe you have another Valentine reference to share with us we look forward to seeing your films this Tuesday.
Of course, if you are bringing a film this week then PLEASE REPLY TO THIS POST in the comments/reply section below, letting us know the film’s run time, format (DVD, Blu-ray) and picture ratio (4:3 or 16:9). This is a great help for us when planning the evening out and helping things run smoothly so if you could do us this courtesy it would be greatly appreciated.
A quick N.B for anyone who wants to bring a USB flash drive. In the event that our Blu-ray player might not be able to play it or if we don’t have the club laptop to hand, please bring a DVD back-up copy with you. I realise that defeats the purpose of using a USB instead of burning a disc but I suppose it depends on how much you want your film to be seen or not.
Finally if yo have a trophy from last year’s Oscars and haven’t returned it to Brenda or Freddy yet this is your last chance to do so! See you on Tuesday!
We will have a 5 minute real film and possibly a shorter animation.

As far as turn out goes it seems the cold weather has once again forced club members to stay inside but we did still have some films on the theme of “Valentines” to enjoy.
In a slight twist on the topic The Eptons shared with us a brief look at the romance and the family journey that led to their daughter’s wedding, then followed this up with a (very) short animation. The ever reliable Barbara Darby presented us with a love related montage, and Pat Palmer reflected back on a romantic trip she once enjoyed.
Finally, a lateral look at love Lady Annabelle of Lancaster provided film from an outsider (Boo!) that featured 3 generations of the one family, detailing the marriage of the parents, the birth of their kids and their eventual marriage and creation of their own families.
A fairly brisk night in support of the project theme but the remainder of the evening involved a trawl the club archives.
