OVFM PROJECT EVENING:

SURPRISE SURPRISE

For this week’s club meeting  we look forward to seeing the results of your hard labour in creating a film that fits the theme of “Surprise Surprise”. If you should still need a reminder or what this entails the details can be found HERE Since you are all a creative and devious bunch I am sure we can expect a few unique treats to savour in lieu of the broad spectrum of possibilities this topic suggests.

As always we ask that those you who will be submitting a film to please reply to this post below saying as much so we have a rough idea of how the time allotment for this session will play out.

Also could you please include the following information with your submission:

Film Title

Your Name

Running Time

Aspect Ratio (4:3 or 16:9)

This simple act of cooperation makes all the difference  for our archivists and programme compilers and is greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much and see you on Tuesday!

  1. Greetings!
    I have a film…it will be a surprize…but I can reveal it is all of 1min 20secs long.
I do hope we have time to show it!

  2. It seems that OVFM was NOT the place to be last night as the turnout was one of the lowest in recent memory – and that includes when the snow fell a few weeks back!

So for the benefit of those of you who decided we were not worthy of your presence, here is what you missed.

Not much as it happened. A low turn out meant we had only THREE films for the Project Evening.

A returning Bob Wyeth shared with us a “Surprise For Sarah” in which a group of people on board a boat trip were subject to some blasphemous language!

Capn’ Chris Coulson’s “Surprise” wasn’t so much of a surprise as it was about cats. “Predicable” would have been a better title… 😉

So it was up to Simon “Snapper” Earwicker to save the day with “Stop Motion” a fun slice of animation.

Bob Wyeth had another treat for us in the form of a remixed version of an old film entitled “Around The World” before we moved on to films from a Showreel supplied by Southport Filmmakers.

First up was “Perfect” by Christopher Mander, a wonderfully sardonic look at being image conscious. Next was “Bringing The House Down” a comedy by Nigel Barton about an offer a wealthy couple SHOULD have refused.

“The Hypnotist” by Keith Taylor was a tongue-in-cheek little yarn while the evening was rounded off another award winning film from Nigel Barton in the form of the rather superb “Rent-A-Mate”.

Overall, an enjoyable night was had by all.

  3. Nice write-up Lee,
and a hearty slap on the back for Bob!
Thanks Bob for contributing two films. In the Screen Time League you must be right up there in the Premiership!
Remember everyone the Project Evenings are a great opportunity to show off your film making skills or if you’re a bit out of practice it’s a good excuse to have a go.
Why not get something together for the next Project Evening.
It doesn’t have to be long or a work of art, just make sure it’s entertaining!

  4. Well done Lee for a good write up, Simon for such a fun film and Bob for a film that reflected the title of the project evening so well
