OVFM Club Meeting Tuesday August 28th 2012

The Top Ten competition rolls on as we head into Round Three. Last time we had just three entries but with so much happening over the past few weeks and this being the holiday season, I imagine there should be a few more than that this time around.

The following people have been selected to present their films to us:

Barbara Walker

Alan Whippy

Reg Lancaster

Freddy Beard

Brenda & Roger Wheatley

Peter Llewllyn Smith

Jess & Richard Pugh

Barbara J. Darby

Simon Earwicker

Harold & Maisie Trill

Jennie Jarnot

Mike & Jo Coad

Please reply to this post if you will be providing a film at this week’s session.

If you don’t then have a film ready please let Brenda Wheatley know so that she can try to find someone else to fill the gap in the evening. If your film is ready early please feel free to bring it along to any top ten night and if there is time we will show it.

If you miss your given round you can bring your film along to a later one, but it will only be shown after those drawn for that round, if there is time.

Good luck to everyone who enters a film!

OVFM 2012 Ramble Sunday August 19th

The Ramble

Sunday 19th August

10 for 10.30am

Otford Village car park (by Otford Village Hall) – http:www.otford.info/ovmh/location_map.shtml

This is a flat and gentle walk to Shoreham Village (and back) with just one or two stiles to clamber over.

Keep your eyes peeled for Otford’s very own scale representation of our Solar System (you’ve got to see it to believe it!) and numerous other sights you wont want to miss.

Arrive at Shoreham lunch time. There are several pubs serving great food, a cafe up by the railway station for light bites and refreshments are also available at the fascinating Battle of Britain Museum.

If you want a challenge why not climb the hill for a close-up view of the chalk cross, which is also a good way to work up an appetite for cream teas and homemade cakes in Shoreham Parish Church (from mid afternoon). If you don’t want a challenge sit beside the River and watch the ducks or explore the lovely village of Shoreham. After everyone has had their fill of tasty goodies we’ll gather at the Church and wend our way back to Otford.

If you can’t manage the walk or don’t want to exert yourself why not join us at Shoreham for lunch or afternoon tea?

OVFM Club Meeting Tuesday August 14th 2012

ovfm_proj

Kicking off the month of August for OVFM is another project evening, this time “Up My Street”, the details of which can be found HERE

Project evenings are often the most fun to see how a certain theme or concept is interpreted by our filmmakers and often produces an evening of great variety and creativity.

I’m sure many of you have found inspiration or something of fascination to share with us based around this ambiguous but hopefully fertile concept and as always we look forward to seeing the fruits of your labours. If you will be bringing a film please reply to this post below to let us know as it is a great help to our resident projectionist Simon “Snapper” Earwicker to have an idea of how to best allot the time.

See you all on Tuesday!

New OVFM Project – “Up My Street”

Time for another club project: Up My Street!

This was suggested by John & Ann Epton at the AGM and it’s ambiguous title apparently serves the purpose of allowing us to interpret it in any way we see fit. It could mean a look up the street where you live or it could refer to the colloquial phrase referring to something which suits your tastes as in “that’s right up my street!”

So get your thinking caps on and your cameras out as the results are due to be screened at the next club meeting in two weeks time on August 14th!

Good luck!
